Che-Che-Change

No longer available in Colombia.

In a letter to the Wall Street Journal that was coincidently published on the day of the hostage rescue, Peruvian writer Alvaro Vargas Llosa tells the real story of Che Guevara. Far from being a hero, he presided over mass executions, prison labor camps, bloody and failed insurrections, and economic ruin.

Then there's Geraghty's headline from TCS:

Obama: I Salute Uribe Freeing Hostages From Group Whose Sponsor I Will Meet

Ah, yes. It was "diplomatic power" that helped the Colombian army send a fake message to move the hostages, meet the FARC group in disguise (they dressed in Che t-shirts!), and take them onto two helicopters, where they then flew to freedom.

Yet Congress still continues to sit on their collective hands and not pass the Colombia Free Trade Agreement, despite the fact their military risked life and limb to free 3 American hostages. The U.S.-Colombia Free Trade Agreement is a win-win for Montana.

Sí se puede!

Mike
