Those crazy chickenzzz in Obama's closet are apparently coming home to rooooost after all.
Big Sky Cairn reports on what could only be deemed a temporary moment of sanity in Helena. It seems that even The Guv™ (for now) is getting as much distance as possible between him and Barack Obama.
Look, I concede it's a no-win situation to be in. If Schweitzer endorses either Obama or Clinton let's just say Roy Brown job's just got easier. With a thin majority in the Montana senate, Schweitzer can hardly afford to expend the political capital necessary to sell a radical like Obama to a still conservative Montana. Instead we'll see Schweitzer punt, and use his status as a super delegate to quietly cast his vote for the winner of Montana's primary. Look for phrases like "the will of the people" to be used (and used often) in Helena following the primary.
Thomas Paine first said, "Lead, follow, or get out of the way." Schweitzer again proves that he'll take the path of least resistance to insure his ego remains untarnished and untouched by the stain that an Obama or Clinton would surely bring. That, friends, is not the mark of a leader any of us should consider re-electing.
Mike
