Meanwhile, poor Mitt Romney, who’s suffered back-to-back losses in the last week, desperately needs to win Michigan in order to keep his campaign afloat. Bottom line, if Romney loses Michigan, he's out. If he wins, he stays in.
And we want Romney in, because the more Republican candidates we have fighting it out, trashing each other with negative ads and spending tons of money, the better it is for us. We want Mitt to stay in the race, and to do that, we need him to win in Michigan.
Now here's the thing -- without a real Democratic contest on the ballot, and a lack of party registration in Michigan, this is an open primary. Anyone can pick up a Republican ballot. So Michigan Democrats and independents who want to see the Republican battle royale continue should just take a few minutes on Tuesday, January 15th to cast a ballot for Mitt Romney in the Republican primary.
If we can help push Mitt over the line, not only do we help keep their field fragmented, but we also pollute Romney's victory. How "legitimate" will the Mittster's victory look if liberals provide the margin of victory? Think of the hilarity that will ensue. We'll simply be adding fuel to their civil war, never a bad thing from our vantage point.
So why are we doing this? Because we can. Because it'll be fun.
So get the word out and get out the vote...Tuesday, January 15th to cast a ballot for Mitt Romney in the Republican primary. And don't feel bad or awkward about doing so... What's more, if Michigan Republicans didn't want Dems or indies to vote in their primary, they could have changed the rules. But they didn't, so here we are.
It's not that progressives are stupid per se. They're self-stupid, so absurdly lacking in self-awareness, self-criticism, or a sense of ego-puncturing irony as to be diagnosable retards in this area of cognitive development. But by all means, don't let me stop you from this journey of self exploration.

LOL! Omigod I forgot all about that. Well done Mike!
I didn't, Carol. The Kos stuff was really just the tip of the iceberg concerning Democrat plans to "rig the primary" for Republicans.
Thanks.
Dang Mike, it must be nice to strike the hammer exactly on the critical piece every time.
Great Job!
Thanks, Steve.
Mike - RWCJ - you know and I know this doesn't work - two wrongs do not make a right. It is wrong for you to interfere in the Democratic primary - you should let them put up their own candidate, and then try to beat that candidate on his/her merits. You can comment on this aspect of politics, you can laugh about it, but to participate in it makes you, Mike, just and ordinary Joe. And you are coming off as very ordinary to me. I wonder why I ever thought twice about you. I know Dave Budge. You're no Budge.
Once again, Kos diarists speak for the whole of the progressive community.
Your logic is simply stunning, Mike.
Once again, Kos diarists speak for the whole of the progressive community.
They sure as hell represent more than just a minor cross-section.
Bullshit, Mike. And you know it. One person's diary post represents that person's view. And while I certainly wouldn't doubt that there are "progressives" out there who agree with that opinion, your attempts to use them as a mouthpiece for an entire movement is dishonest and shameful.
You're using that kind of crap as a substitute for any kind of real thought or analysis. What's wrong with you?
Bullshit, Mike. And you know it.
Enough with the petulance....kay?
One person's diary post represents that person's view....your attempts to use them as a mouthpiece for an entire movement is dishonest and shameful.
I tire of the continued refrain of, "but it's only one post for crissakes." Yes, it's one post, followed by over 950+ comments which I believe represents a significant cross-section of progressive thought. Ask anyone at DK if they're at the vanguard of progressivism. Ask the political candidates who genuflect to the nutters at their annual convention, or the mainstream media who follow their lead that a "lone post" does not represent the mainstream of progressivism.
If I had saved the links to other "projects" planned by progressives for their own version of "Operation Chaos" you'd know that this was hardly a nascent effort. DK was hardly alone in their cheerleading for screwing with the Republicans.
Mike, your state of mind seems to be petulant anymore. I wonder at you calling me out for it.
Anyways, if you want to find any hypocrisy on the left for this, perhaps you should find a post (or even one measly comment) from Matt, Jay, Rob, Shane, my Dad, or I that comes out in favor of interfering in the Republicans election process. THAT is hypocrisy.
Even if a diary post with 900 comments somehow represents a significant cross section of the progressive community (it doesn't, and you know it...), it's still completely dishonest on your part to somehow apply quotes from that to the views of the lefty blogs in Montana.
You let me know when you prove any actual hypocrisy occured here. My guess is, you're going to continue reaching and coming up with nothing. You're awfully good at it.
it's still completely dishonest on your part to somehow apply quotes from that to the views of the lefty blogs in Montana.
Not once have I ever mentioned Montana's lefty blogs. In case you haven't noticed I don't care too much about where they stand on the issue. It is telling, though, that there was a WHOLE LOT of snark in reference to Andy's idea of bringing Operation Chaos to Montana and one lone flaccid comment against the idea.
How many times have we heard the refrain, in reference to Obama owning the nomination because of what happened in Florida & Michigan, that "them's the rules, STFU and get over it." Well, Steve, the respective parties get to chose how they conduct the primary and who can vote in it. This being the case there is absolutely nothing untoward about a Republican using the rules at his or her disposal and casting a vote for Clinton.
I see this everywhere and it comes out in so many ways - you guys on the right stopped being statesmanlike years ago, and have become crass partisans only interested in ends, screw the means. You and your ilk are the reason politics is so bipolar, why there's so little respect between the parties. Democrats have not changed over the years. You have. You got down and dirty.
Democrats have not changed over the years. You have. You got down and dirty.
Umm, Democrats have indeed "changed over the years," which explains partially why I'm no longer one of them.
By all means, though, if it makes you feel better, keep pushing the delusions. If nothing else they're good for an early morning chuckle.
Read the news - O'Reilly, Limbaugh, Hannity, Coulter, Buchanan, Rove, Beck, and our locals like Berg and Rye, the preachers like Falwell and Robertson, Haggard and Hagee, then there's Norquist and the prayer before breakfast set ... the list goes on. No compromise allowed in any of these shills. What's missing is basic respect. The tactics are dirty, the strategy is to drown out opposing viewpoints, the means to the end is crude smears and propaganda. I'm not a Democrat - anyone will tell you that I take them to task more than your ilk. But I see what you guys are doing. It's low and vile, and you ought to be ashamed.
