For a few weeks now I have actually been hoping that the "palestinian" terrorist organization Hamas would win a majority of seats in the palestinian parliament. Perhaps now many governments, NGO's, and so-called "progressives"will end their support for a political movement that embraces anti-Semitism, murder, and the destruction of the modern State of Israel.
The latest news from here in Israel indicates that Hamas has indeed won a majority of seats in parliament, though official news of the "victory" is not yet being announced by the palestinian authority probably for fear of immediate sanctions by western governments and a halt of all financial aid to the corrupt PA government.
Though I don't support President Bu$h on the domestic front, Haaretz reported earlier today:
U.S. President George W. Bush said Wednesday the United States will not deal with Hamas until the radical Palestinian Islamist group renounces its position for calling for the destruction of Israel.
"A political party, in order to be viable, is one that professes peace, in my judgment, in order that it will keep the peace," the president said Wednesday in an Oval Office interview after an apparently strong showing by Hamas in Palestinian parliamentary voting.
Acting Prime Minister Ehud Olmert has said that Israel cannot trust a Palestinian leadership in which the Islamic group Hamas has a role. With Olmert's Kadima party now standing at 44% in polls released this morning it's readily apparent to anyone that the concessions of the Sharon and Olmert government in the past, concerning Gush Katif and other Jewish settlements in Gaza, which was conducted unilaterally without the influence of Abu Mazen has greatly strenghtened Hamas.
The stated policy of the American government under George W. Bu$h is that we do not negotiate with terrorists. It would therefore send a strong signal to the now entrenched terrorist government of the PA that the US freeze all assets of the Palestinian Authority in the United States and declare their official representatives on US soil as persona non grata and expel them immediately.
Israel also needs to immediately suspend any official dealings with the PA, seal its border crossings, and let the palestinian people enjoy the fruits of their election choices, namely the poverty, corruption, and misery brought forth by their being pawns in a Pan-Arab movement bent on Israel's total annihilation. Also, if I were "Joe" Palestinian, I wouldn't want to be standing too close to any Hamas leader unless I was absolutely sure I wanted a one-way ticket to paradise with 70 swine-like virgins brought forth by the business end of an Israeli missile.
There is truly no dealing with the devil. Perhaps now Israel and its electorate will wake up and elect a government truly interested in completly defeating the PA and restoring Eretz Yisroel to the only people who have a rightful claim to all its land.

Simple facts: More Palestinians have been killed by Israeli terrorism than Israelis by Palestinian terrorism, and the national existence of the Arabs of Palestine has been far more radically devalued than that of the Jews of Israel.
That we don't define Israeli terrorism as such? That speaks to our culture and the very well oiled Israeli attack machine that goes after any politician that strays into truthfulness. Israelis and thier American supporters are far more powerful than Palestinians. They get to define what terror is.
One of the principles of Nuremburg is best illustrated by the definition of what is a war crime, and today, what constitutes terrorism. In WWII, both sides were guilty of ghastly crimes against humanity in the form of aerial bombardment of cities, the Allies far more so than the Germans or Japanese. However, under the terms of victor’s justice, aerial bombardment of cities was not labeled a crime. Jurists had to look elsewhere. Similarly, in the 21st century, both Arabs and Americans and Israelis are guilty of bombardment of innocent civilians, blowing their bodies to shreds, leaving mangled corpses and permanently disfiguring women, children, young and old alike. Americans and Israelis do far more of this than suicide bombers. Therefore, under the doctrine that the powerful make the rules, attacks on civilians are not considered in and of themselves a crime – it is only the manner in which attacks are carried out that matters. To do so with jet planes or laser guided bombs is acceptable; to strap bombs to one’s belly is not.
That's how it works. Hamas is riding a wave of despair - if only you knew for a day, even a minute, what it means to be powerless in the face of a brutal foe, then you would understand a vote for Hamas. It also doens't hurt that Hamas is among the Palestinians supporting their infrastructure, funding their schools, heping their disabled and other victims. Israelis watch with wondering eyes.
